Frazier, Judge among top prospect performers Wednesday

Ty Blach spun his second shutout of the season, leading Triple-A Sacramento to a 2-0 win over Tacoma.
Blach, the Giants’ No. 23 prospect, needed a season-high 123 pitches (85 strikes) to finish the masterpiece, in which he gave up just two hits and struck out seven.
“Just executing pitches and getting ahead,” Blach told MiLB.com. “Being able to execute when I was ahead in the count, and the defense was making great plays all day. … Pretty much just rolled with what [catcher Miguel Olivo] was calling. … We were on the same page all day long, I don’t think I shook him off once.”
After posting a 1.59 ERA in five July starts — his best month of the year — Blach has carried that momentum into August, as he’s 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in two starts.
The 25-year-old lefty has thrown three complete games this season, the most he’s fired in any season since the Giants selected him in the fifth round of the 2012 draft.
The rest of the best performances from top prospects Wednesday:
• Joey Gallo (Rangers’ No. 1, No. 13 overall) hadn’t homered in two straight games, so he was bound to go deep for Triple-A Round Rock. Gallo homered for the sixth time in his past 13 games and now has 22 through 78 games with the Express this season. The Rangers’ top prospect later added a pair of extra base hits and finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs, just a single short of the cycle.
• Amed Rosario (Mets’ No. 1, No. 16 overall) notched his 11th three-hit performance of the year as part of a 3-for-4 night with Double-A Binghamton. The 20-year-old shortstop has been on fire since his promotion, hitting a scorching .364 in 31 Double-A games.
• Clint Frazier (Yankees’ No. 1, No. 21 overall) and Aaron Judge (Yankees’ No. 4, No. 28 overall) provided a large chunk of offense for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The duo combined to go 5-for-9 with a homer and four RBIs in the club’s win. Frazier extended his hitting streak to five games and recorded his first three-hit game with the Yankees’ …
