Eovaldi to receive further tests for elbow pain

BOSTON — Yankees right-hander Nathan Eovaldi made quick work of the Red Sox in the bottom of the first inning of Wednesday night’s 9-4 win at Fenway Park, using just 12 pitches to retire the side in order. Eovaldi would not return to action the following inning, however, due to right elbow discomfort.

Eovaldi was seen on Thursday by Yankees team physician Christopher Ahmad in New York, where the right-hander underwent an evaluation and Dye Contrast MRI exam. Dr. Ahmad recommended that Eovaldi receive further evaluation and consultation, which the righty will do in the coming days.
