Eovaldi to undergo tests for right elbow pain

BOSTON — Yankees right-hander Nathan Eovaldi made quick work of the Red Sox in the bottom of the first inning of Wednesday night’s 9-4 win at Fenway Park, using just 12 pitches to retire the side in order. Eovaldi would not return to action the following inning, however, due to right elbow discomfort.
“We sent him back to New York,” manager Joe Girardi said. “He’ll have tests [Thursday]. It was his elbow. It’s frustrating, it’s concerning, but we really won’t know anything until probably [Thursday] night.”
