Earnhardt Plans to Return

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is determined to continue his racing career once he’s recovered from the concussion that’s sidelined him for the last three races.
Friday at Watkins Glen International, he met the media in person for the first time since he’s been forced to sit out.
“It’s great to be back and see everybody,” said Earnhardt. “I missed my team and my teammates. I figured coming to the track wasn’t a bad idea.”
Earnhardt has not raced since the Quaker State 400 on July 9 at Kentucky Speedway. He’s been undergoing evaluation and treatment for a head injury that’s caused dizziness and a lack of balance.
There’s no timetable for when Earnhardt will be medically cleared to return, but he made it clear that his plan is to get back in a racecar as soon as possible.
