NASCAR Notebook: Weather Causes Challenges

Dealing with the wrath of “Mother Nature” is never easy, as was the case last weekend at Pocono Raceway.

Rain postponed Sunday’s Pennsylvania 400 until Monday and the weather then was also no picnic. Rain, fog, mist and lightning conspired to impact the race, finally causing NASCAR to call it official after 138 of the scheduled 160 laps.

Chris Buescher was ahead when the call came to end things and scored his first career Sprint Cup victory. The decision to finally pull the plug was far from simple.
