Del Potro: ‘What a pity for Federer, I wanted to take the revenge of London 2012’

In a meeting with media persons in Buenos Aires, on Friday, Juan Martin del Potro talked about playing in Rio, his schedule for this season thereafter and also about Roger Federer’s completely unexpected announcement.

‘Olympics are something unique for any athlete. I had the privilege to win a medal in London, that’s what makes the Games special. Before London, I considered it a tournament like the others, important, but I did not know all what you could feel in that event. I feel proud to come back to play the Games, but I am not among the candidates for a medal in Rio.
