Beyond Wimbledon: The time-turning act of Venus Williams

At Wimbledon this year, there were three American women ranked in the top-10. Of the three, world no. 1 Serena Williams lived up to her billing as the favourite – despite two consecutive setbacks at the Australian and French Open finals – and went on to finally equal Steffi Graf’s record of 22 Slams. Ninth seeded Madison Keys’ run was halted by injury and Simona Halep in the fourth round after an impressive start to her first tournament as a top-10 player. And then there was Venus Williams.
