Guy Forget: ‘Aim was to play for as long as possible, even if we have been criticised for playing in difficult conditions!

Yesterday’s decision to stop all the matches at Roland Garros at one point has raised a lot of controversies, as the spectators were accusing the organizers that day deliberately ended the play at Philippe-Chatrier Court at the point where the match between Novak Djokovic and Roberto Bautista Agut has reached the 1 hour and 59 minutes mark. All matches were called for the day after few more delays, which means that the spectators could not get ticket’s reimbursement, as the play was suspended just before 2 hours mark. That made them very angry of course, with a lot of them coming from different parts of the world and having additional expenses just to reach the Roland Garros venue. Guy Forget, the tournament director, had to call the official press conference to clarify the things, explaining the intentions and putting the players safety into a first place.
