Joseph to be examined after taking ball to groin

BALTIMORE — Orioles catcher Caleb Joseph, who was hit in the groin with a foul ball in Monday’s 7-2 loss to the Red Sox, went to a local hospital to get checked out postgame.
“My first concern is Caleb,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of the injury, which occurred during the eighth inning. “Took him to the hospital. He’s getting checked. Some residual from the lick he took.”
