Joseph goes on DL after taking ball to groin

BALTIMORE — Orioles catcher Caleb Joseph, who was hit in the groin with a foul ball in Monday’s 7-2 loss to the Red Sox, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday with a testicular injury. Catcher Francisco Pena was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.
Joseph, who played all nine innings, snapped an 0-for-19 streak with a fifth-inning single. He came close to his first RBI of the season, but Ryan Flaherty held up at third base.
