Time for the second Grand Slam of the season, the French Open, has arrived and the usual question that’s asked during the tournament is will this be the year when we will be seeing a Frenchman lifting the Roland Garros Men’s Singles trophy?
Since Yannick Noah and his 1984 campaign in the French capital when he beat Mats Wilander in the final to clinch Roland Garros glory, no local player has managed to get his hands on the men’s singles title, and for such a powerful nation that year in and year out features many good players, this is probably not an easy pill to swallow.
