Trevor Rosenthal says he would never show up his manager

LOS ANGELES — Two similar baseball scenes began playing out in western cities Thursday night, but they led to distinct endings.
Around the time San Francisco Giants closer Santiago Casilla was being removed by manager Bruce Bochy in Phoenix, Trevor Rosenthal was getting the ball taken out of his glove by Mike Matheny in Anaheim. Casilla would punch the ball in disgust, storm off the mound and then criticize Bochy in his postgame comments. Rosenthal, who had walked the bases loaded before Kevin Siegrist cleaned up the mess, just walked back to the dugout, head down.
That doesn’t mean he didn’t understand Casilla’s show of emotion, saying, “I’m never OK with coming out of a game.”
