Matz has elbow soreness, to skip start

LOS ANGELES — The Mets will skip Steven Matz’s next turn in the rotation due to left elbow soreness.
Matz complained of upper forearm soreness following his win against the Dodgers on Monday. He has not received an MRI, but he will visit doctors when the Mets return to New York on Monday. In Matz’s absence, right-hander Logan Verrett will start Saturday in Colorado.
