Lowrie lands on DL with bruised right shin

BOSTON — The A’s lost a key component of their lineup Wednesday, placing second baseman Jed Lowrie on the disabled list with a bruised right shin.
Lowrie, who fouled a ball off his shin in the seventh inning of Monday’s game in Boston, has been one of Oakland’s most consistent producers this season, batting .302 with a .341 on-base percentage. His .464 average with runners in scoring position is tops in the American League.
Chris Coghlan will see the most time at second base in place of Lowrie, who was still on crutches when he departed …
