Ex-Jet Bart Scott rips Ryan Fitzpatrick: ‘You don’t get to cash in twice’

Everyone, it seems, has an opinion on the New York Jets’ contract impasse with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Chiming in from left field is former Jets linebacker Bart Scott, who gets paid to give his opinion now that he’s a member of the media. Essentially, the outspoken Scott ripped Fitzpatrick for being greedy.
“Fitz don’t have a leg to stand on, man,” Scott said in an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio. “He is who he is. You can have great teams and great records, but at this point, pretty much everybody knows who he is. He’s a quality guy. On another 20 teams in the league, he would be a backup. The only teams that he would start for are the teams that have bad quarterback situations. He’s a bridge guy, a glue guy.”
Scott said Fitzpatrick doesn’t deserve $15 million per year just because the unproven Brock Osweiler landed $18 million-a-year from the Houston Texans. Why not?
