Vegas mayor: ‘Not getting played’ by Raiders

The Raiders and Las Vegas are a perfect marriage on paper, but it’s hard to imagine an NFL team actually moving to Sin City, mainly because of the league’s generally conservative approach to the world of gambling.
However, Mark Davis continues to press forward with the possibility, and all signs and rumors and reports point to the reality of the Raiders landing in the desert. The mayor of Las Vegas certainly seems to think it’s happening and said the city is “not getting played” by ownership.
“Mark Davis has assured us that Las Vegas is not getting played in a Raiders stadium deal,” Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman said, per ESPN.com. “I know we will have a team.”
Davis and the Raiders recently promised $500 million to a stadium in Las Vegas and are preparing to “pledge” the team to Oakland if stadium financing is approved.
