Derek Watt to Chargers: Twitter Reacts to FB Being Selected in 2016 NFL Draft
- Updated: April 30, 2016
The NFL will have to deal with another member of the Watt family, as the San Diego Chargers made fullback Derek Watt the 198th pick in the 2016 draft.
Watt is the brother of Houston Texans superstar J.J. Watt, who has done well establishing the family name in the NFL with four All-Pro selections and three Defensive Player of the Year trophies. But no pressure, little brother.
Not surprisingly, social media had a lot of fun with the addition of a second Watt to the NFL.
Sticking with the family, Watt’s brothers each shared a message of congratulations on Twitter after the Chargers gave Derek the call:
Could not be happier or more proud bro!!! Incredible!!! I’m definitely coming to visit!!! @DerekWatt34

It’s funny that J.J. Watt said he would be coming to visit because the NFL on ESPN noted the brothers won’t have to wait long for their first head-to-head matchup:
