Raiders trade up in fourth round, make interesting pick of QB Connor Cook

A few thoughts on the Oakland Raiders trading up 14 spots to select Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook with the second pick of the fourth round, No. 100 overall.
My take: Hmmm, the Raiders already have a franchise quarterback in Derek Carr, who was the team’s second-round pick in 2014, and a more-than-serviceable backup in Matt McGloin. And yet, the thought remains that teams should draft a quarterback every three years or so. The Raiders, in trading up and surrendering one of their fifth-round picks, No. 154 overall to the Cleveland Browns, did more than add a Top 4-ranked quarterback in the draft — Oakland also blocked the Dallas Cowboys, who …
