De La Rosa could miss start due to illness

DENVER — The Rockies were uncertain as of Sunday morning whether left-hander Jorge De La Rosa, who has been sick with the stomach flu, will make his scheduled start Monday against the Pirates.
The Rockies considered starting lefty Chris Rusin in De La Rosa’s place, but the situation was complicated when Jordan Lyles struggled for 2 2/3 innings on Sunday, and Rusin was summoned in relief.
The pitching calendar posted in the Rockies’ clubhouse had Rusin starting Monday’s opener of a four-game series against the Pirates, with De La Rosa pushed to Wednesday night. But that changed after De La Rosa did some throwing Sunday morning.
