AleksandarTodorovic There were only 2 rounds played so far and it’s still very beginning of the Regular Season in KLS. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Beovuk 72 (1-1) in Beograd on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Borac (2-0) 82-73. Beovuk 72 was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Beovuk 72 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Bosnian power forward Aleksandar Todorovic (206-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Ilija Djokovic (188-96) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Stefan Fundic (199-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for Beovuk 72. Beovuk 72’s coach Rajko Mirkovic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Borac is looking forward to face Metalac (#11) in Valjevo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Beovuk 72 will play on the road against Spartak (#3) in Subotica and it may be a tough game between close rivals. In the last two games of round 2 winless Napredak K. was beaten by Mladost ZE on the road 88-73. Tamis lost to Dunav SB on its own court 59-68. Dynamic BG unfortunately lost to Vrsac in a road game 80-88. Smederevo lost to Spartak at home 64-97. Konstantin was crushed by Metalac on the opponent’s court 68-101. The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks by Lazar Zorcic of Dunav SB.Mladost ZE – Napredak K. 88-73Mladost ZE used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Krusevac 88-73 on Sunday night. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Mladost ZE’s pressure prevailed and they won that period 29-17 extending their advantage to 15 points. They made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Mladost ZE outrebounded Napredak Rubin 40-28 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mladost ZE made 9 blocks. Napredak Rubin was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Andrija Bojic (207-93, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Guard Ognjen Kuzeta (193-87) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Jovan Djordjevic (198-93) replied with 21 points and center Milan Markovic (208-90) added 18 points in the effort for Napredak Rubin. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mladost ZE will face Dunav SB in Stari Banovci in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
