MikeBruesewitz There were only 2 rounds played so far and it’s still very beginning of the Regular Season in Basketligan. Nassjo (1-1) recorded a loss at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by KFUM Jamtland (1-1) 86-83. Nassjo was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. KFUM Jamtland made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Nassjo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import guard Jabril Durham (185-94, college: Arkansas) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. American center Dartaye Ruffin (205-91, college: Drexel, agency: Dynamics Global Management) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Nassjo’s coach Raul Jimenez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. KFUM Jamtland will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nassjo will play on the road against Umea (#9) and is hoping to win this game. Important game to mention about took place in Lulea. BC Lulea (2-0) saved a 2-point victory at home edging Sodertalje Kings (1-1) 61-59 on Tuesday evening. Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Adam Ronnqvist contributed with 12 points and 9 assists for the winners. Croatia forward Toni Bizaca (202-82, agency: XL Basketball Agency) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds for Sodertalje Kings. Sodertalje Kings’ coach tested ten players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. BC Lulea will play against Norrkoping Dolphins (#7) in Norrkoping in the next round where they are favorite. Sodertalje Kings will play at home against Boras Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals. The game with biggest result difference took place in Boras. Local Boras Basket (2-0) outscored Umea (0-2) 104-66 on Tuesday night. Shaquille Hines scored 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Boras Basket’s coach Jonte Karlsson felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Terrence Oglesby responded with 21 points. Boras Basket will meet Sodertalje Kings (#5) on the road in the next round. Umea will play against Nassjo (#6) and hope to win that game. In the last game of round 2 Malbas lost to Uppsala in a road game 50-81.
