Greece – Rubio’s double-double lands him A2 Player of the Week award

GuillemRubio 34-year old center Guillem Rubio (202-C-82) had an amazing evening in the last round for Doukas and receives a Eurobasket.com A2 Player of the Week award for round 1.He had a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Psyhiko (#16, 0-1) 76-62. Doukas is placed at 3rd position in Greek A2. But it’s just the very beginning of the season and Doukas won just one (their first) game. It’s too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Rubio turned to be Doukas’ top player in his first season with the team. Rubio has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in points (2nd best: 21.0ppg) and averages solid 83.3% FGP.Second best performed player last round was Kostas Macheras (205-C-85) of Ethnikos. He is a center in his first season at Ethnikos. In the last game Macheras recorded impressive 17 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Ethnikos lost that game 71-81 to Panionios (1-0).
