Van Gerwen wins Barnsley title

Michael van Gerwen secured his 17th title of 2016 with victory in Tuesday’s Players Championship 14 in Barnsley.
The Dutch superstar blanked Mensur Suljovic 6-0 in the final to make it three successive tournament victories and continue his domination of the sport.
Van Gerwen picked up where he left off in two recent European Tour titles with only semi-final victim John Henderson able to take more than three legs off him in the best-of-11 format.
