Grand Prix joy for Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen won his sixth European Tour title of the year as he claimed victory in the HappyBet European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen, Germany.
The world No 1, who also triumphed in Meulheim last week, eased to a 6-2 win over Peter Wright in the final.
Van Gerwen started the final in ruthless mood and, after an opening-leg hold, the 27-year-old Dutchman broke throw after Wright had just landed the first maximum of the final.
After another comfortable hold, it was in the fourth leg that Van Gerwen showed his class with a 164 finish to move 4-0 ahead.
At 5-0, Van Gerwen missed a shot at double 13 which would have given him a whitewash victory, allowing Wright to land a 101 finish on double 12 to stay …
