Ichiro ties Boggs for 27th on all-time hits list

NEW YORK — Not only did Ichiro Suzuki collect the Marlins’ first hit on Monday night, the 42-year-old outfielder moved into a tie with Wade Boggs on MLB’s all-time list.

Ichiro floated an opposite-field single off Mets right-hander Rafael Montero with two outs in the fourth inning of a scoreless game at Citi Field to match Boggs for 27th place. Boggs now has company at 3,010 hits.
