Antiquarium aimed at Marathon

Antiquarium, who failed to show his true form at York, will be targeted at the All-Weather Marathon on Good Friday.

The four-year-old stayer’s best performance to date came when he was successful in the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle in June, but he could not back that up in the Ebor and finished eighth behind Heartbreak City.

“That was not him in the Ebor,” said trainer Charlie Appleby.

“We know that he handles the all-weather and he will be a horse that we campaign towards the Marathon on Finals Day.

“He will run in a couple of qualifiers before being aimed at the final.”
