Winston-Salem Open 2016: Monday Tennis Scores, Results and Updated Draw Schedule

With the 2016 U.S. Open a week away, some players on the ATP World Tour are getting a little extra work in at the Winston-Salem Open.
Almost all of the game’s top stars have chosen to focus on the U.S. Open rather than making the trip to North Carolina, leaving the Winston-Salem Open largely devoid of marquee names. Top-seeded Richard Gasquet took the court Monday, along with Federico Delbonis, Donald Young and Mikhail Youzhny.
Below is a brief overview for some of Monday’s biggest matches and a look ahead to Tuesday:
Monday Recap
Delbonis was the lone seeded player to go down Monday, falling to Stephane Robert in three sets. Robert committed 12 double-faults and won 39 percent of his second-service points, but he continued to cause problems for Delbonis when the No. 13 seed was on serve. Delbonis surrendered 14 break-point opportunities.
Gasquet had some trouble against Daniel Evans but eventually put the 26-year-old away in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Neither player performed particularly well in a match that saw 22 combined break-point opportunities.
Tennis commentator David Law thought the trend was unsustainable for Evans:
