Ichiro passes Kaline with 3,008th career hit

PITTSBURGH — Robbed of a hit in his first at-bat on Saturday night at PNC Park, Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki wasn’t denied his second time up. The 42-year-old lined a double to right off Pirates right-hander Chad Kuhl in the fourth inning for his 3,008th career hit.
The extra-base hit moved Ichiro into 28th place on the Major League all-time list, passing Al Kaline (3,007). Next on the distinguished list is Wade Boggs, who is 27th with 3,010.
