Hugo Palmer’s Wall Of Fire (16/1) came from the rear to land a Betfred Melrose Stakes which fell apart in the final stages.
Two furlongs out, Emperor Napoleon was in pole position and fought off a number of challenges, but a decent early pace in the 14-furlong contest began to take its toll soon afterwards and the complexion of the race changed dramatically close home.
