Walker-off: Neil scores winner to end Mets’ skid

NEW YORK — In desperate need of a win, the Mets got one in dramatic fashion on Saturday thanks to Wilmer Flores, who plated Neil Walker with the winning run in the 11th inning to give New York a 3-2 victory over the Padres at Citi Field.
The victory snapped a season high-tying four-game losing streak for the Mets.
Walker led off the 11th inning with a single and advanced to third two batters later on a bloop single by James Loney. With the infield in, Flores chopped a ground ball to second baseman Ryan Schimpf, whose throw home sailed wide as Walker slid across the plate.
