Doppler & Horst create three-way Beach Volleyball pool tie

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 10, 2016 – Clemens Doppler and Alexander Horst did Italian rivals Adrian Carambula and Alexander Ranghieri a favor here early Thursday morning by winning their final Pool A match over a Canadian pair to create a three-way tie for atop the group standings in the Beach Volleyball competition at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
With the three-way tie between teams with a 2-1 record, Carambula and Ranghieri captured Pool A with the best point ratio (1.1159) for the matches play among the three teams with Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt second (108988) and Doppler and Horst third (0.8351).
With the tie-breaker secured, Carambula and Ranghieri will become the No. 1-seeded team in the 16-team men’s elimination bracket with opening knock-out matches …
