Rox shaking off recent bullpen troubles

ARLINGTON — The same Rockies bullpen that weathered its fair share of derision after three key home losses is the same one that was part of the team’s strong run out of the All-Star break. That’s the way the Rockies are seeing it.
Righty Carlos Estevez was removed from the closer role by manager Walt Weiss to “catch his breath” after blowing save opportunities on Friday and Monday. Righty Scott Oberg lost a three-run lead in Tuesday’s 7-5 loss.
“We have the talent to get it done,” Weiss said of the bullpen. “We’ve got to get some guys on a roll. We’ve had some guys have some tough outings recently, going through a tough stretch at the same time, but they have the stuff to get it done — give the ball to the next guy, on down the line, and you end up shaking hands.
“We’ve played very well. Offensively, I’m very pleased. We lost tremendous production in the middle of the lineup [with Trevor Story and Carlos Gonzalez out], but I’m really proud of the way we’ve executed. We’ve played really good defense. Starting pitching is outstanding. We’ve got to maintain …
