Cameroon, Ghana smoothen route to Madagascar

Cameroon and Ghana have taken commanding leads as far as places at the third and final round of the qualifiers for the U-17 AFCON Madagascar 2017 is concerned. A brace each from Rosin Bella and Christian Ngakole coupled with one each from Moise Sakava, Stephane Zobo and Landry Abessolo gave the Cameroonians a 7-0 win over visiting Kenya in the second round first leg encounter on Sunday in Limbe. Elsewhere in Cape Coast, 148-kilomteres from the Ghanaian capital, Accra, the Black Starlets came from a goal down to beat Burkina Faso 5-1 to move within sight of a next round berth. Forward Razak Junior gave ‘Les Etalons Cadets’ the lead after only ten minutes before goals from Emmanuel Toku and Eric Ayiah saw the Ghanaians lead 2-1 at the break. Ayiah struck his second few minutes after recess before Gabriel Levah and substitute Nathaniel Opoku Onyina also registered their names on the score cards to wrap up victory. There was also away wins for Senegal and Angola against Tunisia and Mauritius respectively, with Senegal winning 3-2 in Grombalia whilst Jelson António João Mivo’s 27th minute strike was enough to secure victory for Angola in Curepipe.
