Morocco hosts FIFA club licensing seminar

Morocco has become the latest country to host a FIFA club licensing seminar as world football’s governing body continues to expand club licensing globally in conjunction with the confederations with the aim of strengthening the professionalisation of club football. Former Moroccan international Mustapha Hadji, who participated in two FIFA World Cups and was named African Footballer of the Year in 1998, gave the keynote speech this morning to kick off the two-day seminar. “With my experience as a professional player at clubs in France, Portugal, Spain, England and Germany, I have seen how club football benefits from professional club management,” he said. “African club football will benefit from the implementation of a club licensing system.
