Majoris impresses at Newmarket

A review of the rest of the action from Newmarket as Frankel colt Majoris won again for Hugo Palmer.
Majoris evoked memories of the mighty Frankel as he set up a potential leap to Group-race company with an authoritative success in the Royal British Legion Nursery Handicap on Newmarket’s July Course.
After winning second time out at Brighton, the Hugo Palmer-trained Majoris gifted his famous sire a first winner at the course where he scored the first of 14 career successes back in 2010.
Adopting a position at the head of the field soon after exiting the stalls in the seven-furlong event, the 8-11 favourite galloped on relentlessly to the line to win by seven lengths.
Palmer said: “He has been a little bit of a fool in the stalls, that’s why we put the hood on him then whipped it off as he has missed the break before and all his good work at home has been from the front.
“Newmarket is a front runners’ track so it was perfect place for him. It was like a bit of work for him.
“He has won his second start and now his third by seven lengths. He has got ability and Jim (Crowley) never picked the stick up.
“The Royal Lodge closes on Tuesday so we will put him in that and we will put him in the Dewhurst when that closes. We might think about the Solario at Sandown next.”
