Paul Clement has wished Sam Allardyce well in his new role as England manager after rejecting the chance to join his coaching staff.
Allardyce, who was confirmed as Roy Hodgson’s successor last month, hoped to appoint the Bayern Munich assistant to his backroom staff ahead of his first match in charge against Slovakia on September 4.
