ATP TORONTO Masters F Preview: Can Djokovic win his third ever title at the Rogers Cup?

The Rogers Cup in Toronto has reached its last destination and Sunday is the day when we will get to see the name of 2016 champion at the Canadian Masters event. Two players left – both eyeing the same – title.
Novak Djokovic [1] – Kei Nishikori [3] For the first time ever, the final at the Rogers Cup will feature Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori, who are set to square off for the twelfth time in their careers. As expected, the Serbian world number one has a better head-to-head record as he leads with nine wins and two losses against the Japanese top-ranked player. Since 2014 US Open and Nishikori’s semi-final win over Djokovic, the Japanese has failed to take down the Serbian in six played matches thereafter. So far in this season, the two have met four times, with Djokovic winning every single match. Interestingly, this will be their second Masters 1000 final in 2016 as the two have met in Miami final earlier this year. After a shocking third-round defeat at Wimbledon suffered against Sam Querrey, Djokovic decided to take some time to rest and made Toronto as his first post-Wimbledon destination. In the past, Djokovic proved that he is able to quickly overcome disappointments and to bounce back with strong performance at the following event.
