Marlon Moraes successfully defends title, Lance Palmer regains belt at WSOF 32

Marlon Moraes ended his World Series of Fighting contract in devastating fashion at the XFINITY Arena in Everett, Wash.

The WSOF bantamweight champion, who defended his title for the first time in 2015 against Josh Hill, met the Canadian talent one more time inside the cage Saturday night, and improved to 10-0 under the promotion’s banner with a devastating knockout 38 seconds into the second round.

“I beat him two times and I think I proved to everyone how good I am,” said the free agent fighter after the win, issuing a challenge to UFC 135-pound kingpin Dominick Cruz right. “I’m very happy… I think I showed I’m the best 135-pounder in the world. No doubt. I will fight anybody. I know the UFC has a new owner so let’s do new things. Me against Dominick Cruz at 135. I will fight him, and I’ll beat him.”

Another rematch took place in the co-main event, but the belt changed hands this time. Alexandre Almeida, who upset Lance Palmer to win the featherweight gold last December, saw the Team Alpha Male win the decision this time.
