O’Neill hints at Keane retirement

Robbie Keane is set to follow Shay Given into international retirement, Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill has hinted.
Keane won his 145th cap in Ireland’s 2-1 last-16 defeat to France at Euro 2016 and is his country’s record scorer with 67 goals in an international career spanning 18 years.
And speaking ahead of the Football Association of Ireland’s AGM in Clonmel on Saturday, O’Neill confirmed his skipper will make an announcement about his future in the near future.
