When you hear the word Olympics, no matter the year, what comes to mind is international athletes walking the parade at the opening ceremonies along with countrymates waving their national flag. The wonderful performances and Olympic judges introduced can conjure up great images. But what goes on behind the Olympics, with its politics and health and environmental factors, bringing world athletes together, drug testing, housing registrations and so many other situations and legal roadblocks are a case in point and everything in Brazil will not stay in Brazil but is news worldwide.
The Zika virus has been the real beginnings of the reason tennis players and athletes have withdrawn their bid to participate. First, the WHO (World Health Organization) was saying that there is no threat because of the mosquito infestation is explosive in damp, warm weather but the Olympics time will be dryer, cooler climates with hardly any risk. the cancellation, postponement and/or movement of the event to another venue isn’t likely or necessary. The effects of being infected they say are mild, flu-like symptoms and Zika affecting young pregnant women are the focal point. The idea of going over to Brazil was thought to be possible of bringing the infested mosquitoes back into the United States is a myth and the organization says that mosquitoes are fragile and would never be able to be alive to be transmitted back to the States.
