Thiem: ‘When I planned my 2016 schedule, I didn’t expect to get so far’

Dominic Thiem has been suffering an hip injury for two weeks and retired down 1-4 in the first set against Kevin Anderson. The World No. 9 is paying all the effort he gave in the first part of the season where he played more than 60 matches: ‘When I planned my schedule last year, didn’t expect to get so far’, he said in press conference.
But it’s not time to have regrets. Thiem needs to think only about healing: ‘I felt it since like two weeks or something. It didn’t get worse – he remarked about the injury – I decided to go out and to try, but yeah, obviously it didn’t work out. Yeah, against such a good player, it doesn’t work out …
