On Tuesday, Roger Federer announced on his Facebook page that he would be missing the remainder of the 2016 season. The reactions were quite fast, not only from his fans, but also from his fellow tennis professionals, who came out to support him through messages on the various social media channels.
Martina Hingis, who was to play mixed doubles with him in Rio, shared, ‘Naturally, I would have loved to partner with him there , but I know that it was a very tough decision for him and he is equally disappointed. Obviously, I wish him a full and speedy recovery and hope to see him playing again soon!’
