Kyle Busch made history in Indianapolis and raced his way back to the top of the Power Rankings.
1. Kyle Busch: As red hot as the summer weather, Busch turned in an historic performance over the weekend in Indianapolis with two poles and two wins, capped by a second straight Brickyard 400 victory. Last year’s Sprint Cup Series champion has positioned himself as the best in the series as July gets ready to come to a close.
Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 106.9 Points Standing: 5th Previous Ranking: 3rd
2. Kevin Harvick: A sixth-place finish for Harvick on a day when he didn’t get a shot at trying to wrestle the lead away and wound up coming home with a decent if not memorable finish after bouncing back from an unscheduled pit stop early.
Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 109.3 Points Standing: 1st Previous Ranking: 2nd
3. Joey Logano: Still trying to bring Roger Penske an elusive Brickyard 400 trophy to go along with his 16 Indy 500 wins. Logano wasn’t able to break the drought but posted a respectable top-10 finish on Sunday.
