O’Day nearing return from DL stint

BALTIMORE — After more than a month and a half on the disabled list, Darren O’Day (right hamstring strain) seems primed to rejoin the Orioles’ bullpen. Manager Buck Showalter said the club expects to either activate him on Sunday or have him pitch one more rehab game before doing so early next week.
O’Day threw a scoreless inning at Double-A Bowie on Friday night and said he felt good. Before Saturday’s game, he said he hoped it would be his only rehab appearance.
“My delivery is in a good place,” O’Day said. “I was making a lot of good pitches. Everything was moving like it should, so I hope to be back soon, the next couple of days.”
The O’s could also get Hyun Soo Kim, who’s on the DL with a right hamstring strain, back within the week. Showalter wants Kim to complete two rehab games before his return, and he’s first eligible to come off the DL on Tuesday. Double-A Bowie announced …
