Czech Republic, France and Germany top the individual sprint heats in Austria

Murau (23/07/2016) – After Saturday’s part of the competition programme at the 2016 ECA Junior Wildwater Canoeing European Championships in Austria we have the names of the athletes which will fight for the Wildwater Sprint Junior European Champion titles tomorrow. Over 120 athletes started today in the heats of the individual sprint race to qualify for the Sunday’s finals.
The strongest nations of this European Championships in Murau once again reached the top positions, this time in the qualification runs of the individual sprint event, which will conclude tomorrow with the finals. Czech paddler Michal Šmoldas, reigning European Champion in C1M classic race, set the fastest time in men’s canoe to advance directly to the final. Etienne Klatt (FRA) and Julien Saliba (FRA) were just behind him.Martina Satkova (CZE) was the fastest girl in women’s canoe heats, followed by her sister Gabriela Satkova and another Czech paddler Anežka Paloudova. …
