Manchester United Transfer News: James Rodriguez Talks Big Bid, Latest Rumours
- Updated: July 22, 2016
Manchester United transfer target James Rodriguez has revealed he turned down a €85 million (£71.2 million) offer from an unnamed club this summer, per Hugo Cerezo of Marca.
The Real Madrid attacking midfielder has failed to seal his place in Zinedine Zidane’s first team squad after the Frenchman was appointed manager following the sacking of Rafael Benitez in January.
However, Colombia international Rodriguez has vowed to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu and win back his spot in the starting lineup. Per Cerezo, he said: “I will fight to earn my place. That’s my dream. I will stay at Real Madrid, I will succeed here. I know that the club received an €85 million bid for me, but I’m not leaving.”
Per WhoScored.com, the 25-year-old former Porto playmaker made 17 starts in La Liga last term but still managed to notch seven goals and supply eight assists in a fragmented season.
Take a look at some of the best goals, dribbles and tricks by Rodriguez:
