Moscot undergoes Tommy John surgery

CINCINNATI — Reds pitcher Jon Moscot underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery Tuesday on his right elbow.
Moscot, who was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on June 7 after he went 0-3 with an 8.02 ERA in five starts, has endured an injury-riddled past two seasons. He was placed on Louisville’s disabled list on July 5.
The procedure, to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in Moscot’s elbow, was performed by team medical director, Dr. Timothy Kremchek. Also removed were loose bone fragments.
