Roger Federer: ‘At the 2000 Sydney Games, I realized there was more than just friendship with Mirka’

The ITF published a memoir of tennis’ journey in the Olympics since it was re-introduced in the four-yearly tournament in the 1988 Seoul Games. Titled ‘My Life, My Medal’, the memoir chronicles every tennis player, even Paralympic athletes, who have won Olympic medals since then.
One player, who has experienced tremendous success at the Olympics, has been Roger Federer. Not only has Federer won two medals – gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in doubles, with Stan Wawrinka, and silver at the 2012 London Olympics – also met his wife, Mirka during the 2000 Sydney Games.
