Kingsbury praises ex-Texas Tech QB Mayfield

DALLAS — Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury praised Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield during Big 12 media days Monday, and confirmed that the Red Raiders voted in favor of the Big 12 walk-on transfer rule change earlier this summer, which gave back Mayfield his fourth year of eligibility.
“I know a lot has come from Baker’s side, but I loved coaching him, loved the chip on his shoulder, cheered for him in every game except one,” Kingsbury said.
“It’s been fun to see the success he’s had.”
