Pundits’ Euro 2016 predictions

With just over a week to go until Euro 2016 gets under way, the Sky Sports pundits predict who will triumph in France.

France are unsurprisingly attracting the majority of the backing as the bookies’ favourites, but there is one pundit willing to back England, while Matt Le Tissier has a 40/1 fancy.

As Sky Bet launch their Euro 2016 offer, we asked the pundits whether they will make their outright predictions using their head or their heart…

I’d obviously love to see England do well and I think they will go close, but my head says France.

I think in terms of strikers we’re up there with the best, but looking at the squads it is France that have the highest quality overall.

They’re obviously the home nation and showed how important that is by winning the World Cup in 1998 and Euro 84 when they hosted both times.

Matt Le Tissier

It’s a tough one but I’m going with my head and for a bit of value with a good each-way price in Austria.

They did very well in qualifying, winning nine and drawing just one of their 10 games and let in very few goals.

Yes I’d love England to win it, but my head is saying they’re just not good enough.
